Why We Exist
I grew up with dogs, and they were always part of the family. They came on holidays, joined our routines, and shaped how we lived. Years with active breeds led us into flyball, sheep herding, dock diving, sledding, and more.
Most afternoons were spent with local dog families at the park, letting dogs socialise and play. That shaped our view of dog walking adventures: they should build confidence and safe group skills, not just tick the exercise box. With huskies and border collies, we learned a short walk is often not enough.
When we started, group adventures were far less common. As the industry grew, we focused on what stays consistent: quality, local knowledge, and reliable care. Kate and Ben now run one full-time region, and Erin returned from vet nursing to run her own. That is why we back owner-operators building long-term careers in pet care.

What Families Count On
A strong About page should not just talk about the business. It should reduce the doubts people actually have before they enquire. These are the promises the rest of the site already makes, gathered into one place.
Every decision starts with what will keep your dog stimulated, confident and excited for the next outing.
Families need more than a walker. They need handlers who show up, communicate clearly, and care for their dog like it matters.
We know our areas, our packs, and the personalities that work best together on every adventure.
Photos and pup-dates are part of the service so you can see the fun instead of wondering how the walk went.
From first chat to first adventure
The aim is to remove uncertainty early. Families need to know how their dog will be introduced, matched and looked after before they are ready to book ongoing adventures.
We learn about your dog, your routine, and the sort of adventure experience that will suit them best.
We group dogs by energy, size, confidence and temperament so the day stays safe, social and fun.
You get a happy, exercised dog plus the updates and photos that show exactly how the adventure went.

Meet The Team
This is the content that used to live on the separate team page. It belongs here because trust is stronger when the founder story, the care philosophy, and the actual handlers all sit in one place.

I am Elyse, founder of Get Your Dog Walking. Scooter and Ralph inspired how this business started, after I saw how hard it was for active dogs to get safe social time and real stimulation during the day.
Dogs have always been at the center of my life. Living and training with a Border Collie and a Husky taught me how much thoughtful matching, routine, and enrichment can change a dog's confidence and behavior at home. With older dogs, I keep activities gentler and tailored to what their body can comfortably handle. I also really enjoy meeting dogs and owners at the park, easing owner anxiety, and helping families better understand their dog's social cues.
